A Series on 4 Books covering 3rd to 6th class.
Each unit of the Pupil Book is divided into 5 clear sections:
Focus: a question is posed to help children think about the spelling rule they will be investigating.
Rule: this clearly explains the rule being studied, and shows examples.
Practice: this provides activities to practise understanding of the rule.
More to think about: this provides activities to further develop understanding of the rule
Now try this: this provides activities to stretch and extend understanding of the rule.

Oxford Junior Workbooks

Though they can be used with the young child beginning to read, these workbooks are designed specifically for the reluctant or slow learner. They provide a graded collection of exercises, puzzles, and colouring and drawing activities

Nelson Spelling

Nelson Spelling has been extensively revised and updated offering a comprehensive and structured course for developing a whole school spelling policy. It uses a range of strategies and techniques to ensure your pupils reach their full potential in spelling.

Developing Skills Books

Workbooks
There are three Workbooks available for Foundation level/P1 providing an ideal format for younger pupils who have not yet developed textbook skills, with a clear format and large text.

Teacher's Book and Resource and Assessment Books
The Teacher's Book provides an easy reference spread from the Developing Skills Books and clear learning targets for each unit. The Resource and Assessment Books are an integral part of the programme as they cover spelling objectives and assessment pages, also offering resources for homework.

Personal Dictionaries
These dictionaries contain key words included in the NLS Framework for Teaching and are the perfect start for building dictionary skills. They provide opportunities for both spelling and handwriting skills to be practised together.

 

 

 

A Hand for Spelling

This series teaches handwriting and spelling together. "A Hand for Spelling" has been revised so that the material in the old Activity Books is now integrated into the main course material. Book 2a contains 94 photocopy masters dealing with words used by children aged 5 to 7 years, at Key Stage 1. Illustrations have been added together with background material from the author's guide "Joining the ABC". Four Levels, Books A & B at each level.
