Smart Phonics |
This exciting new multi-sensory program focuses on the relationship between sounds and their spelling. What makes Smart Phonics unique is the way in which colour-coded phonics is embedded into whole language poetry. The program starts with giant A2, write-on/wipe-off, illustrated poems designed for shared reading. On one side the target phoneme is colour-coded; on the reverse there is no colour-coding and children are invited to identify the target phoneme using the colour-coded pen. There are over 90 of these entertaining, illustrated poetry cards, each focusing on a particular phoneme. In addition, Smart Phonics has 3 core manuals, each designed to sequentially teach a set of letter/sound relationships within a meaningful context. Each manual covers a different set of phonemes allowing your students to build their skills systematically. For each letter sound, the manual provides reproducible poems, word level work, and phonemic awareness activity sheets, as well as teaching notes so that you can plan your lessons quickly and easily.
