	Each year of Lightning (Years 3-6/P4-P7) consists of: 3 books of Short Stories, 3 Non-Fiction books, 1 Poetry Anthology, 1 collection of Plays, each with supporting Teaching Notes. There is also a Programme Organizer and an Interactive Big Book CD ROM.
	Pupil Books This series of reading books follows a clear structure for teaching guided reading at Key Stage 2. The 32 books, 8 per year, comprise short stories, poetry, plays and non-fiction. Differentiated texts at year 3 will help avoid the ‘falling back’ often experienced at the start of KS2 Complete texts are just the right length for guided reading sessions The fiction and non-fiction books are thematically linked to reinforce children’s reading The non-fiction books are linked to the wider curriculum Covers the NLS genre requirements, providing a perfect resource for SATs preparation. Short Stories All short stories are complete texts. The stories are linked thematically to provide a shared reading experience for all abilities. Non–fiction Text types linked via themes that will engage children’s interest Books provide cross-curricular links and match to the Scheme of Work Beautifully designed with a contemporary feel and strong boy appeal The full range of genres that children are likely to meet in the SATs.
